Will the horns ruin the World Cup?

Englands band being drowned out would be about the only plus, theyre bloody awful. Cant imagine anything worse than having to sit near those knobbers whilst they randomly blast out the great escape!

Im gutted that Fifa havent done anything to ban these horns, they were unbearably awful in the CC and it is just noise for the sake of noise.
Can only hope (and i feel terrible for saying this) that there are fewer local fans in the grounds to blow those things, the prospect of having the sound of ten thousand wasps droning over every world cup match is bloody awful.
 
If ITV's coverage is any indication, they haven't found a way to filter out the horns, or they just don't want to. Tragic :(

I disagree. I thought it was just the media doing their usual scare-story tactics and thought 'Its just a few horns', but after 15 mins of the game I've changed my mind completely - this is awful.

It's a constant din - if it was at specific parts of the game (a goal or attack for example) then it would be fine, but as it is I can barely hear the usual crowd noises which is spoiling the atmosphere.

I hope the US and England supports won't do the same on Saturday.

And the fact that England international games are also pretty noisy with all the drums, air horns etc etc.

Just watch the football and quit whining, it's a World Cup fgs.

As I just said in the other thread, I think they've reduced the crowd volume a little bit and its not so bad now, or I'm just getting used to it.

Either way it doesn't really dampen the WC :p
 
Rubbish, their is no rhythm or tone, its just a drone its awful, a drum has a beat and you can get chants going, nobody has even sang anything yet, its just "MAAAAAAAAAAAAMAAAAAAAAAAAAAMAAAAAAAAAAAAMAAAAAAA"
 
My TV has a 'Sports' mode and it changes the sound settings aswell the picture. The noise of the horns is actually a bit bearable now!
 
I really really don't like those horns. It's the equivalent of someone shining a torch in your eyes as you try to watch. Very irritating.

I imagine this sort of noise will be worse during SA matches.
 
My tv has a mode which can stop the sounds of the horns. on the remote it has a sign of a speaker and a X through it.
