Will the z-680 speaker system be comming bak on OC?

I listen to both before getting the Z680's.

I could not tell any diff. in sound quality , certainly not an £80 sound difference

Z680's - £123.00
Z5500's - £206.00

Depends on your budget , I suppose.

This seems a very sweeping statement.

I have usually spent a max. of £50 on speakers in the past , but never been entirely satisfied and ended up changing them.

The Logitechs Z680's are excellent speakers ( not just my opinion , check out the reviews they received ) and I will not be changing them for as long as they last , so IMO there represent an excellent investment.

Z-680 are only that cheap because they're not in production or demand anymore. When the Z5500 first came out and the Z680 were still being made, they were within 5% of each other price wise.

As for sound quality, I read the Z680 produce a noticeable hiss. Dunno if it's true though.

Anyway, the obvious answer is to find somewhere that does have the Z680 in stock.

My set produce no hiss at all.
I read about the hiss problem , the Logitech forum is full of posts about the hiss on the Z5500's + Z5450 aswell.

I bought mine 2 weeks ago , New , so they are still available.

appantly the hiss is cos of the control pod, and logitech brought out a new version of the control pod that dont make the system hiss. If any of you guys has a hissing 680 speakers, just ring logitech up, and they will send you the updated control pod.

Someone might be selling there z680 system to me. He said £100 or make me a offer. Is £80 a decent offer?
 
Ive just seen that at amazon. the guy replied saying £90, so I might aswell go for a new one from amazon with free p&p :D .. But I better buy it next week,, cos soon they will be non existence

though these speakers are sposed to be great, im upset to see them off OcUK because i just saved up enough to buy them! :mad: lol just my luck
 
For the price, they are definitely good bang for buck. I remember seeing them costing more than the Mega/Gigaworks at some point :eek:

The surprise come as the Z-680 only has the boom, Boom, BOOM over the Mega/Gigas (quantitative bass). I don't know how much better the Z-5500 improved upon them, posted price, they are good value now.
