If it was limited to two way SLI, I would have imagined they would have only kept one of the SLI (like they do on the GTX 960 which is limited to two way SLI) fingers rather then two Fingers as is the norm for 3/4 way SLI.

They are using both fingers for enhanced 2 way SLI.

To do the same with 4 way SLI the cards would need 4 fingers !!!!
 
Absolutely keeping my two 980Tis. Playing at 3440x1440 I still get around 100fps, so all I'd be doing is bringing up my minimum frame rate most of the time.

I'll wait until an "1180", most likely. Even a succeeding Ti, provided the performance increase is predictable, just isn't worth it.
 
I sold one of my Titan Xs 2 weeks a go i could see the market was peaking..
as no TXs in stock new in the UK waiting on the 1080.
I got £800 for my ASUS card but E-bay fees was £80.

But i have one Evga Titan X with Hybrid cooler which is nice in my Corsair 350d case..
Keeps my card nice and cool..

So i don't think i take the 1080 bate as if only 20% faster not worth it..
Will wait for the Next Titan or Ti as not in a rush really to upgrade
 
I will be keeping my 980Ti to the point where at least 50%+ performance can be had for my upper price limit of £500, at which point I will upgrade. At 1440p the 980ti feels like it can hang on for a bit longer, considering the only games comming out soon I am interested in playing are Overwatch and Doom 4.

Hopefully the 1080ti will be in the right ballpark when it arrives. I could probably be tempted by AMDs Vega as well, if it can best the 980ti by 50%.

It seems daft for people to ditch 980ti's and TitanX's for the 1080, when you know that in 6 months time the 1080ti will come out, and then people will upgrade to that.
 
I am not sure if its a good idea to ebay 980ti now. Looking at the leaked benchmarks the graphics score on firestrike extreme for the 1080 at 1860mhz (which is higher than the default boost already so probably similar to branded versions). Which is within 10% of a 980ti, so not exactly massively better is it. It says on the slides they OC'd it to 2100mhz which is another 10%, so about 20% total + maybe another 5%. Not sure if I should ebay my 980ti now and then get the 1080 or just keep the 980ti until the 1080ti comes out. Also I doubt an OC 1070 will beat an OC 980ti, probably close but I doubt it will be faster.

I think if a overclocked 1070 is similar to 980ti, it'll make current 980ti owners a bit miffed. Only the fact 2nd hand prices will tumble but surely we/they already knew this. 2 current 980ti's in for sale at members market right now. Lots of views and nobody interested at price listed.

Yeh I already said that earlier, but the 1070 has normal GDDR5 memory with 256bit bus and less cores than 1080, I honestly doubt it will beat a 980ti at higher resolutions, also considering the 1080 is only 10% faster at 1860 boost. realistically I do not think the 1080 will be more than 20-25% faster including OC and also I doubt the 1070 will beat a 980ti.

Its always "in this specific area" or "in VR" etc. It never just flat out gives you benchmarks with current games showing how much better they are, except one with the witcher 3, but the 980ti is already a lot faster than a 980 in witcher 3. Obviously these look good and you should get one if you have a 970 etc. but coming from a 980ti I am not sure if it is worth it.

Yup, probably the route I'll take or at least see what amd offers.
 
This a forum full of people who love technology and anything new graphics wise will cause ripples and conversation. I'm only interested in finding a one card solution that'll handle everything I throw at it for 18 months @ 3440x1440.

Me too and I am not sure the 1080 will be that... well actually I am very sure that only the 1080ti will be able to run everything ultra 70-100fps 3440x1440 for another 2-3 years.

20% would be 60fps where you are currently getting 50fps, 72fps where you are getting 60 etc. which is a good boost but quite a few games will already not run at 3440x1440 70-100fps with all ultra setting, some easily drop to 50fps so you would need another 50% performance to get that up to 75fps. GTA V for example I can easily get that to run at about 30fps with 4xAA and all settings maxed, or about 40fps with 2xAA.

I'll probably upgrade my whole system in 2017 so yeah I'll probably replace my 980Ti with a 1080Ti or maybe even the new Titan when it is released (if they do release a new Titan based on Pascal). I'll be sticking with a single card solution no matter what though.
