Awareness of global issues, etc. isn't necessarily self-awareness or even necessarily wider awareness. Harry I'm saying isn't a true believer in the same way not necessarily having self-awareness. I'm not sure I can really explain what I mean very well - if like myself you've been brought up with many of your relatives part of a cult like religious organisation it becomes much clearer as to the parallels with the royal family.

Have you seen the TV series The Capture, I think you wrote the script to series 2.
You can imagine a head of state to be anything but there will be a popularity contest and there will be various prices to pay to win such a thing, and there will be visible and invisible filters to who is eligible and will have their bids supported.
It's going to be political whether you like it or not.
And just what exactly did you expect? I'm not seeing much tacky here, I think it's well done - and I was forced to watch this under duress from my other half, I'm actually quite pleased she forced my hand.
If something like this makes you feel negative, I really wonder for your quality of life tbh.

Well not really as we had to invite some Germans in to give us this current royal family. House of Hanover were not British, they were German.
Why would it make me feel negative? This is a good thing for me, not so much for the institution.

It doesn't have to be political. You could have someone like David Attenborough and he could dedicate his term to making the public and more importantly children aware of the natural world. Or you could have a famous scientist who would work to make the public and again children more informed on science as well as doing the state dinners etc. If you make sure there is zero political power in the job it won't attract politicians. If the public aren't capable of not electing politicians to the job then again wtf does it say about this country.

One thing that has always annoyed me
The right to be King/Queen is supposedly bestowed by God, so it's a God given throne
Yet mostly it was won by men spilling blood on the battlefield
And God by design because of free will, is not supposed to meddle in the affairs of men, which would include who he chooses to be King/Queen
So really it's all a load of ********
