Will you buy a RX 5700 Or RX 5700 XT?

Don't even think you know where you are at mate. Might wanna get that checked out.

I don't know what you're getting at?

AMD have dropped their pricing.
Their original pricing was poor.
I still wish for prices to be lower (I've specified £350 as what I consider the 5700XT to be worth)

Maybe you should switch off the forum for a bit, you've obviously got some type of issue.

Worth it compared to what? Coming up with arbitrary numbers is great. To some a 2080Ti was £1300.

Do you walk into a car dealership and tell them what you think their car is worth with nothing back it up?

It's a mid range part. That's literally the only reasoning that should be required.

Mid tier pricing for a mid tier product.

In some ways AMD have an advantage over Nvidia, because of the mid range parts being such strong performer's. The issue for me is the price point is the wrong tier.

So many things wrong with that post, but I'm going to stop here. It should hopefully be clear now you have no real facts of comparison, to subjectively quantify price/performance.

It's simply your "feelings" of what is the right price, to whom the response from anyone setting the prices will be of complete indifference.

I've had very similar ideas. These days I wait a few days and see if it still send a good idea. I usually am glad I did nothing but occasionally miss out. I do find though that going for the new tech/features works out better. I do suspect AMD are going to do a Ryzen in the GPU space, their management just need a bit of time and R&D cash to get them back on track.
I do that too and have been looking at various GPU options for some time. I waited until I had a pretty good idea of performance and cost of all cards before buying what was a good deal... then AMD unexpectedly drop the price on Navi :D

I guess no harm done; I'll wait for the official release tomorrow and then decide which direction to move. I still feel the VII is a stunning long term card.

probably because people just want AMD to drop the price further. But I think it's now priced low enough to at least make people consider it.

If people are in the market for a graphics card at that price point, it's certainly worth considering.

The real problem of course if that 90% of sales are at a lower price point.

The price point that's typically associated with the tier that the 5700XT is.

This is why Polaris was launched at that price point, with this being the successor it really should be there.

Well if it turns out to be anywhere between zero and 17% faster than a Vega 64 (Figures based on the leaked polish benchmarks) then they're asking for a third more than a V64 blower for said performance increase. Therefore it still seems about $50 overpriced, it doesn't leave enough headroom for sensible AIB pricing.

Fixed for ya :D:D:D

Yes as consumer I'm all for lower price graphic cards, but it's amazing people that make those comments when the reviews of 5700 and 5700XT are not even out yet (although we have a rough guess of what ballpark in terms on performance that they would be in, but at least I am pretty confident that the 5700 is gonna make the 2060 6GB at the same price look worse than it already is in the first place).

Indeed, how dare AMD only aim for delivering a faster card at the same price as Nvidia, but not a faster card AND at lower price than the direct competition...they should be ashamed of themselves :p
