The trouble with the womens game is the disparity in power, power players just dominate when they're on their game. It's not even a close contest to say it's the final.

that was the problem with the women's game for so long. They just moonballed rallies.

The women's tour players who have dragged their game up to the men's level in terms of power should be applauded.

Kvitova's returning today has been unbelievable. Even when out of the point she has found a winner.

Isn't the trouble with the women's game that unless Serena has been be bothered to turn up (bar the French as she's not quite as good on clay), it's pretty much anyone's guess who will win?

Off the top of my head, bar Serena mopping up slams there's less than a handful of players who've won two in the last few years, none who've won 3 or more, and the rest continue to be one-slam-wonders. It sounds more exciting than the mens on paper but in reality (at least from what I've seen) it's usually a case of which player isn't going to have a mental breakdown at some point over a tournament.

Now if Petra can kick on this time she could win quite a few slams, although she wilts under heat.

I think its quite ironic that last year was one of Petras weirdest seasons almost every match went 3 sets I made a killing on betfair with her.

Like I said if she can home her consistency everyone else is dogmeat:D

Kvitova played incredibly and was very focused all tournament, well deserved.

The womens game has certainly been less predictable in recent years, at Wimbledon especially from what I've seen. When the top seeded players have those 'bad days' and go out unexpectedly, it often results in those one-sided finals.
Even if the final went by a little quickly this year, there were some good matches earlier on in the tournament.

There has been some great matches in other tournaments this year too on the womens side, the French Open final was pretty good.

I haven't checked the odds but I'm assuming Djokovic is the favourite for tomorrow... tough one to call though!.

Don't watch the womans tennis that often due to the excessive grunting. Did watch this final and at least the grunting was at a minimum. Very one sided and a great display of dominance but a poor final to watch.

Lets hope Federer and Djokovic can give us some entertainment.

novak has lost 5 of his last 6 slam finals. 3 to nadal and 2 to murray so perhaps he's glad to be playing roger today. but if he loses again, he might really start to doubt himself... :p

Had no idea what to expect yesterday but it was probably the most dominant display by a player in a final since Nadal destroyed Federer 6-3, 6-0, 6-1 at the French Open in 2008.

Bouchard simply had no answer to the power or placement of the serves she was facing and Kvitova absolutely ruined her serves. She's a very talented player but it's hard to see how she'll ever be able to compete with the monsters in the womens game.

Oh, and there's a third sister marc...

kvitova won't be able to play tennis like that week in, week out. at least her opponents had better hope she doesn't. even serena would have struggled against that onslaught yesterday. :p

as for bouchard, it'll be interesting to see how she reacts to that loss. i really hope she comes back stronger.
