Wimbledon 2021

Great minds.

Joking aside, she's got an immense backhand, a very good serve and she moves incredibly well. She already looks quite a long way ahead of the other players he mentioned at a similar age. Forehand looks weak, in comparison, but every aspect of her game will improve over time, even playing regularly will help and she's barely played all year.

She looked like she was having trouble breathing for the last few games, putting her hand to her chest, abdomen and also to the back of her neck.

From the camera angle behind her sitting in the chair she looked like she was struggling breathing, or maybe she was crying, hard to say for sure.

Looked like panic attack, hyperventilating, also causes stomach issues. Hope she can nip that in the bud as it can take over.

Yeah, and I think Emma will join the likes of Laura Robson, Konta, Watson and all the other UK female also rans.

Bloody hell, tough crowd in here! Konta got to 4 in the world, semi final in 3 slams, she's just struggling with injury.

Looked like panic attack, hyperventilating, also causes stomach issues. Hope she can nip that in the bud as it can take over.

You might be right. It was as if she was taking shallow, rapid breaths at one point.

That's how I saw it as well.

Oh she'll definitely do well, rise up the seeding and get rich. She might even get to a quarter or semi final of Wimbledon. But that's about it. The european players are just better. I told you I'm a pessimist :D

Again, based one what?

It’s a bit of a bummer really. Tennis is a young mans game, but it shows that the standard now is generally pretty poor if the runaway winner is 34 years old and a nigh on 40 year old who hasn’t played much breezes through to last 16, probably the quarters at least.

That's it, I know the two aforementioned players are legends of the sport and would always be a tough act to follow, but I still feel like the generations since just aren't that good, certainly not consistently and at GS level. At this rate it'll take Federer/Nadal/Djokovic retiring before they make inroads.

Thiem was getting there but even then had Djokovic not been defaulted at last year's USO I'm not sure Thiem would have won the tournament. He's also gone AWOL since, surely a mental impact of achieving what he's sought for so long. I still find it surprising his Master's 1000 and GS triumphs both came away from clay where he always seemed most likely to make a breakthrough.

Again, based one what?

Not based on anything really. Just be being a bit negative. But all our female players always get so far and no further and much like having watched England play football over the years, it's easy to get cynical. Although fingers crossed that might change this week.

Our last female Wimbledon winner was 44 years ago with Virginia Wade. We might get lucky of course like we did with Andy Murray. I just won't hold my breath.

Bit unfair to make Medvedev/Hurkacz come back today to finish their match after getting rained off yesterday. There was plenty of time to finish it on Centre Court after Federer was done. Next opponent is.... Federer which is convenient for him. :p

So based on what everyone is saying on here she had a bit of a panic attack.

McEnroe has been in trouble with the woke mob for suggesting exactly the same thing because she is a woman and women are all perfect and strong and when a man suggests the emotion and pressure of a massive event like this might have got the better of her its because he is a misogynist. McEnroe has always being good at being honest which is something which is desperately lacking in todays society. Luckily he doesn't seem to give too many ***** so fingers crossed he won't issue a grovelling apology like most of the spineless celebs these days.

Ons Jabeur had a technicolour yawn on Centre Court the other day. I think she'd just broken Muguruza in the 3rd set and had the chance to serve it out and the nerves got to her. She still won though. :p

They've been after McEnroe for a while, he was against equal prize money until the women play best of 5 a few years ago.

Vanessa Feltz was just on This Morning trying to stoke it up a bit. No mention of Ms Balding & Mrs Croft nodding away agreeing with him.

If the likes of McEnroe feel the need for a grovelling apology after that I'd feel sad.

Didn't expect Medvedev to lose and thought he would probably beat Federer in the quarters.

Edit: Navratilova really is an excellent commentator, they just need to hire Courier and pay him what he wants and dump Castle and Inverdale.
