My almost entirely new system for the next few years. I built it in a short time as I had a throbbing headache! I still want to go back and make the cabling a little neater, as well as adding a new GPU and sorting the whining and scuffing noises of the two large fans in the 650D. Great case, poor fans. Disappointing at that price. I'd welcome any feedback about what would improve this machine. I'm thinking about lighting perhaps, or maybe LED fans.
I will have better quality pics once it's fully sorted. Spec below.
Intel i5 2500K
Gigabyte Z68X-UD5-B3
Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 2x4GB 1600MHz CL9
Corsair H70
Corsair HX650W
Corsair 650D
ATi Radeon HD 5870 (To be swapped for GTX570 - faulty)
Crucial M4 128GB SSD
2x Samsung F1 1TB HDD
LG BD-ROM/DVD-RW Drive
ASUS Xonar D1
Compro Videomate E700 Dual DVB-T Tuner
NZXT Black Braided Cables
Thanks to OcUK for almost all of those parts, the build was made possible due to this competition, I'm very grateful!
Nice to see the winning review wasn't 100% positive, and interesting to see Alex go for the Logitech MX518 as his next mouse. Nice looking new system too - half of it the same as mine
Thanks guys. The G400 was a Christmas present- someone knew I needed a replacement!
Very happy with the build so far, a few niggles here and there but I've never had a 100% faultless build. The GPU is faulty and sometimes doesn't post, Corsair fans aren't quiet etc.
Ok here is my joke review, I know the competition is over (ninja edit )
Razer Abyssus:
Why is the mouse good for FPS?
It has 3 buttons and is light, means I can pop peoples faces off all day long without worrying about misclicking random stuff on the mouse. Great mouse for reaction shots in Counter Strike 1.6
What features does it have?
2 Buttons, 1 Scroll wheel and some Dpi and Frequency settings.
Does it improve your skills in FPS gaming?
I am used to it, changing mouse in fps is like changing any sporting equipment it takes time to adjust. I am used to it so it is fine.
Would you recommend it?
No I would not recommend any Razer gear at the current time since they have hiked their prices by an outrageous 30%..
