Win 7 SP1 gets dated?

Wouldn't install, told me components were missing. Installed the system readiness thing, told me to use the system disk. System disk said the following.

To upgrade Windows, the Users, Program Files, and Windows directories need to be on the same partition. Upgrading when these directories are not on the same partition is not supported. Moving these directories so that they are on the same partition is also not supported. You can choose to install a new copy of Windows 7 Professional instead, but this is different from an upgrade, and does not keep your files, settings, and programs. You’ll need to reinstall any programs using the original installation discs or files. To save your files before installing Windows, back them up to an external location such as a CD, DVD, or external hard drive. To install a new copy of Windows 7 Professional, click the Back button in the upper left-hand corner, and select “Custom (advanced)”.

Bugger. :(

Hi all,

I've not read the thread at all so sorry for repost if anyone has this issue

I'm having issues with detecting IP address from the router since ive updated to SP1 - Win7 64bit it just loops round and around and doesn't kick in. So i have to reboot the router and then 2min later it finds an IP. Sometimes I do this and 10min to an hr later it drops again..

Shall i just roll back?

dont know if this has already been posted, sorry if so. i got update from windows update (win 7 63bit) it downloads, installs, restart and when on windows logo it just restarts, try again, restarts, had to do system restore. is this a known problem, can i get around it?

Patched my Termsrnd dll file to allow concurrent RDP and all is well now. Strange bug though randomly on RDP sessions I get a black screen when logging on....Investigation required!

I think it's trying to initiate RemoteFX over the web instead of only using it over the LAN....hmmm.

im still having problems with it even downloading the update, it shows in windows update!
error code 800f081f
anything i can do to sort this

thanksAli

Is it worth downloading this update? i mean my machine is running like a dream at the mo and i dont want to ruin it by installing the service pack, i suppose i could create an image with macrium before i install it and it i find i dont like it i could re-load the image

Hows everyone else finding it?

I tried updating, got an error 0x800f0a12 and it failed to install, a little googling brought a solution from ms, did the solution and upon restarting computer it BSOD on me lol, another restart and tried the update again and it worked, maybe something to do with the ssd in my system as i know i turned some stuff off and moved some stuff to save space

Installed SP1 on both my home desktops Wednesday via windows update, one 64-bit and one 32-bit, no problems at all... IT department have said I'm not allowed to install it on my work laptop though.

Right, I've tried 3 times now to install this; I get as far as it telling me its time to restart/shutdown and it goes through an installation percentage until it finishes and displays a 'shutting down' screen...

I have left it for as long as 3 hours and there's been no movement! I resort to manually powering off and then letting it go through the uninstalling procedure which puts my machine back to its previous state :(

Any ideas? I've followed the recommended microsoft instructions but I still don't have any success.
