Nothing new. With increased performance in technology you can expect to see an exponential rise in cost. Increased performance comes at the cost of more expensive R&D, more expensive manufacturing, lower yields etc.

Besides, this comes with a liquid cooler and isn't an Nvidia card so you can't expect similarities in price.
