The new AMD Trinity based APU and Gigabytes new F2A85X-UP4 motherboard would benefit me as I have a Llano system and thus the new IGP will enable me to play the latest game releases at a high frame rate while keeping the eye candy ON, all the while consuming very little power. The new Gigabyte F2A85X-UP4 motherboard won a "must have" award at Kitguru as it features the new IR3550 power stages and it also uses very little power while being able to overclock like a daemon.

The A10 5800K along with the Gigabyte F2A85X-UP4 would be an ideal solution for my media pc, an ideal combination of power and efficiency.

ENTRY

My requirements for a home PC is changing, I am looking to change from an Intel based gaming tower which sits on top of a desk in my office, for a solution which allows me to watch movies, stream music & also play games at a reasonable frame rate which can be stored below my TV in my living room.

The Trinity offers increased visual and processing performance along with lower power consumption over the Llano whilst still offering a compact solution at an affordable price is perfect and exactly what I am after for an all in one HTPC/Gaming solution without any compromise against my current Intel system.

"ENTRY"

The new Trinity based APU would benefit me as it would enable me to upgrade my HTPC to a machine capable of gaming as well as HTPC duties with lower energy usage. By being able to run games on my HTPC, I will be able to get both my children out of their rooms (and off their XBoxes) and not only integrate them back into my family on a daily basis, but also bring them into the wonderful world of PC gaming which will hook them for life. This benefits:

- My children - as they'll be gaming on better systems with much better graphics and ecosystem
- My wife - as she will get the children back into her life rather than being stuck behind closed doors in their rooms
- Overclockers - because my kids will now grow up buying PC components from you
- Me - as I will have the newest, most amazing kit and a happy, rejoined family.

"AMD brings their GPU leading performance to their 2nd generation APU 'Trinity', delivering discrete Radeon graphics card performance for the latest DX11 games. The new FM2 socket should also be upgradeable to the future 3rd generation APU 'xxxxxx'."

"ENTRY"

"Trinity has reopened the debate between AMD and Intel, upping their game to conquer the Ultrabook, HTPC and Budget PC Market"

If you're looking for power savings along with cost saving then this is bang for the buck, it performs so well at lower voltages and higher clocks than any other set on the market! Four cores running AMD's Turbo Core 3.0.. damn that's going to be hard to beat in the line of market expceically since they can clock up to a whopping 4.2GHz. You have to take into consideration and it's not a hard choice if you're looking to buy this monster but you're also going to get 384 graphics cores running at 800MH, I think it's a 7660 built into it.

Overall the graphics and usage you're going to get out of this is going to be amazing, well worth the money and AMD are striving forward in leading the chain market!

Would actually allow me to have a decent gaming machine (Or even a decent machine) in my flat. Could put it in a small case next to the telly :)

The main advantage of the Trinity based processors over their llano counterparts is increased performance with the onboard graphics, allowing it to run most mainstream games on relatively high settings. it also has very good idle power consumption, lower even than the Intel i3 3220 and 3225.

The FM2 motherboards allow for greater overclocking on the cheaper non K versions of the FM2 processors by using clock generators on the motherboard which override the APUs onboard clock. They also allow triple screen gaming from the onboard graphics alone and the possibility of crossfire between the onboard graphics and a small graphics card

Winning the AMD A10 5800K, Gigabyte F2A85X-UP4 and Zalman CNPS14X Cooler would allow me to get a much higher performance HTPC than I would otherwise have been able to get with my low student budget. It would replace my 6 1/2 year old laptop which would mean instead of playing even the most basic of games in slideshow mode I could play games such as Boarderlands 2 at maximum graphics with a good framerate. I could also do really complex things such as watching a Youtube video in 360p without stuttering or run an antivirus scan and use the internet at the same time (yes, my laptop is that bad)

ENTRY

Trinity would allow me to use my HTpc to game thus allowing my children to have their own pc in the study rather than me competing for time on it. The better gfx and power usage will allow for a quieter overall experience in a small form factor.

The AMD FM2 'Trinity' APU brings balanced computing in an all in one package that sets an even higher standard to its FM1 'LLano' predecessor to provide an enjoyable end-user experience. Its more powerful IGP over its competition truly reflects the multimedia environment that everyday computing encompasses while providing ample resources to enjoy light gaming, run gpu enhanced software or power multiple monitors with ease without the necessity to buy a discrete gpu at additional cost and power consumption.

The host of expanded features on the new A85 chipest make it an ideal and flexible platform with plenty of sata 6G ports and 3 pcie x16 slots for mine or anyones needs. The high quality of Gigabyte's F2A85X-UP4 FM2 board make it a reliable, power efficient and highly capable partner for the A10 5800K.

Compact, strong performance at lower power consumption, an unlocked multiplier and overclocking potential for some tinkering, it's ideal for for what I want from a system. It would be a great replacement for the basic features my current setup provides and a lot of fun to play with and use.
I was surprised they read and paid attention to my personal requests in my correspondance tbh.

ENTRY

My current HTPC (and OH's gaming machine) is only running a P4 with an 8 year old GFX card. The new Trinity range from AMD will benefit this system by allowing smoother playback of blurays and hidef content, as well as higher framerates in games while playing with better quality settings; not to mention actually being able to launch newer games that require SM3. It will also speed up all day to day tasks that get performed on the system.

Will the winner and runner up be randomly picked using a number generator or some other method :p or will it be based on the reply that you guys at OCUKs think is the best answer?

The form factor of personal computers is changing. People now prefer a smaller, sleeker form factor without compromising on the computing power housed within. With this in mind, AMD and gigabyte are leading the market with an APU that houses an impressive CPU coupled within industry leading graphics performance.

This release beneifts people like me who want an affordable, powerful small form factor computer with the ability to play the latest games.

Upgrading is in an overclockers blood! But it's always done in the knowledge of something that improves on a known level of excellence. Trinity is 'that something' - it's the power of three across both the technology it employs and the mission statement it tips its hat to. The abbreviation of APU could just as easily stand for Authority, Potential and Unity.
