In my system I have the M4 ssd which I want to use for OS and games then use my already existing WD HDD for programmes pictures etc.

I have installed the M4 SSD and have Windows 7 home premium running on it.

However when I select the WD HDD to look at my music, documents, pictures there is nothing there. I have not reformatted it as when I select in bios to boot from the WD everything is there just loads up in vista.

So can someone please help me to have the SSD as master drive and WD as slave with all documents?

Thanks

Have you checked to see if there are any hidden files/folders? Can you actually see the drive when booted to your M4?

Have you checked diskmgmt.msc by typing that into Run, it'll display all the drives/partitions.

Doubtful, have you checked the show all files/folder (hidden also)? And any chance of a screenshot of the disk management/properties of the hard drive, is it showing as empty or having space being used?

How do I check show all folders?

Its showing space being used. I am currently running the Vista off WD as have some work I need doing.

The 'system ssd' when running win 7 has the staus (System,Boot etc)

Should be in folder/properties or something to that effect.

Can you see everything when booted into the Vista partition?

When I go on SSD then go to WD users then my previous account say you do not have access click continue to gain permanent access then a green bar just moves across tool bar for a while but never opens

Ah it'll most likely be permissions based issue then, if you imagine when you're in Vista, your user account there is authorised to access your documents, outside of that user access is denied.

I think that's how it works and what's happening, maybe try right clicking on the my documents folder, properties then you might be able to add your user in windows 7 to the authorised list of access to the folder. You may have to change these settings while booted into your Vista account.

Might have better advice in the windows sub forum.

Fair enough :) glad you got it working!

When you click the button to gain access and the green bar starts moving along, you have to leave it a while because this process can take a long time. It's changing the security for every single file and folder to add permissions for your account which can take forever, it's just not obvious that it's still working.

Do any of you know the files for these?
Intel(R) ICH10 Family 2 port Serial ATA Storage Controller 2 - 3A26
Intel(R) ICH10 Family 4 port Serial ATA Storage Controller 1 - 3A20
Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller

On this driver agent it says they are bad out of date drivers
