Windows 11 26h2

No new spyware ?

That goes without saying, Microsoft standard features.

I just found out recently that thumbnails of pictures and videos are stored in %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer
These remain even when you have deleted the pictures and videos!!

"Thumbnails" is being kind. Most of my images are rescaled to 1280p.
You can stop them from being stored by diabling thumbnails, but then you have to disable thumbnails...
If you're worried about it then just create a shortcut to that folder and clean it out ever so often.

Hanlon's razor. I think it's just straight up lazy programming.

When you see articles like this, they make it sound like its effecting 90% of people who installed the update.

It makes a news story. It's not to say that people aren't seeing these bugs with the patch releases, but I've never had any of these issues for any patches over the last year except that one where you get a number instead of a filename when you delete a single file from Recycle Bin, a pretty minor thing.

It's obviously an issue with all of Microsoft's vibe/AI coding and the removal of their QA teams, but it seems the majority of people either aren't affected or don't notice a lot of the bugs.

It seemed like a small update than previous H2's
It slight bigger than 25H2 but still very tiny package.

I downloaded both update from direct links to compared file size:

x64 25H2 KB5054156 167KB
x64 26H2 KB5121794 173KB
ARM64 25H2 KB5054156 171KB
ARM64 26H2 KB5121794 175KB

Could just be coincidence but one of the speakers died in my laptop just after installing this update.

I downloaded the update in 5 mins, no problems so far!

Does Microsoft have a webpage with 26h2 changes?

Thanks,

Not when I've already pwned your DNS. It's blind ignorance like this that leads to so many breaches
Microsoft Update never suffered a single security breach in the history over the last 28 years since Windows 98, Apple and Android too never suffered security breaches. It never been compromised to pushed malicious updates to PCs, Macs, Iphones and Android phones.

Linux had suffered many security breaches for years, linux repositories servers had often been compromised pushed malicious software, OS updates pushed to Linux users to caused damages.

Meh as long as it's a stable release I
Just let it update..

And I generally don't bother doing it unless it nags me too much.. Much like graphics driver updates I don't think there's much to be gained by updating ASAP unless there's a specific reason.

Windows updates are more of a pain in the ass as you have to check a load of security and privacy settings haven't magically been reset to default.

LMAO you still don't get it even with 28 years of experience.
LOL .... Someone explain it to him as if he were a 5 year old

When I take your DNS, SNI and become your CA what do you have ?

Anyway, I don't think you'll ever get it which is why you've been doing what you do for so long

Taskbar customisation is available, however, Start Menu and Context Menu customisation is not enabled yet.
Seems a bit weird not to have all available at launch.
