are HP dragging there heels? not seen any drivers for my printer as yet, i know we still have a few weeks to go, but i can't use my printer wirelessly and make use of the scanner in the correct fashion at the moment, anyone else had issues?

Yes I can't use my all in one photosmart with Windows 7 either......won't even print :(

same issues here, i did manage to get it to print, using vista com mode and drivers but it was shoody, and have not tried again since i got my hands on the release of win7 a few weeks back, it was a messy install! - frigging slow from a big company if you ask me! win7 has been out for the gold partners since Aug 6th, and Win7 is not that much diffirent under the hood to vista - poor show if you ask me

Thank you for contacting Hewlett-Packard's e-Solutions Center.

This email is in response to your HP Compaq nc6400 Notebook PC with respect to the Incident ID xxxxxx.

From the email, I understand that HP Protect tool says not compatible with Windows 7 while running the Windows 7 upgrade advisor.

Gareth, I will be glad to assist you in providing you the required information. I would like to inform you that when new operating systems have been introduced in the past, Microsoft has offered an upgrade program that HP made available to its customers. At this time, HP expects there will be a similar program for Windows 7. Microsoft has now announced the timing of the upgrade programs or the official launch date of Windows 7 as October 22nd 2009. Hence, the drivers can be expected closure to this date.

Hence, I request you to stay with Windows Vista or XP till any further notice.

This document pertains to Windows 7 support and drivers for HP Products and HP All-in-One Products.
Currently, a final release version of Windows 7 is not available to the public. Microsoft is planning on releasing Windows 7 to the public on October 22, 2009.
HP is not providing support or drivers for beta or test versions of Windows 7.
For products that will have Windows 7 drivers, the drivers will be released after HP has tested and qualified their reliability. Once qualified, HP might release drivers before Microsoft releases the final version of Windows 7 to the public. Not every driver will be available before the release of Windows 7 and some models may not have any early release drivers.
HP support representatives do not have any information regarding the release of drivers and software for Windows 7.

We have an HP AIO C8180 I think it is and I ahve the drivers for that installed on Windows 7 and it is using the wi-fi function. Works perfectly!

Given how long it took to get Vista drivers for even their most basic printers, let alone the higher specification models, I'm not holding my breath for proper 7 support :(.

Slightly off topic but driver related is that Netgear are the worst company I've ever had to deal with driver wise.

They took an age to support Vista. Then they don't acknowledge 64-bit exists. 'We'll support it if it becomes popular' is there trademark.

Never buying anything again with Netgear on it.

I've had mixed results with HP and Windows 7. On the positive side our network HP LaserJet worked out of the box. On the negative side they are holding back drivers for some of the older InkJet printers we use.

And to echo what was said about Netgear above, I'm really concerned about this as their lack of driver support could potentially hold us back from moving to Windows 7. :(

I can print using Win7 but not use the scanner :(

I've just been booting XP if I want to scan something.

Can't really blame them for not having drivers before release date although you'd think they'd have something so that manufacturers can combine pc's with printers.

yeah as i said my Hp laptop works fine with win7 having all the drivers including the finger print reader and bluthtooth mouse, but the printer ones are not there, tried compatabilty mode but still could not get the scanner part to work
