Windows 7 price due to go up?

I need W7 for a new build so this is the one for me?

The retail edition contains 32bit & 64bit fresh install on a new partition(the one you want)

The upgrade edition is described as `upgrade` (for vista users only) which (if i'm not mistaken) as yet is not listed on site

If you have the mental/fiscal discipline required then this is a situation that credit cards were designed for.

Interesting. I've got too many Pro copies and wish I'd gone for an Ultimate Edition as I'd like the encryption facilities now.

I wonder how much MS will charge to upgrade a Pro version to an Ultimate?

if you got the pro's at the discount price ebay them and make a profit

Just starting to look at that at the mo. Will see.

I'd maybe sell 3 of them and then get an Ultimate Edition for my laptop for the encrption stuff etc.

to be honest though the ebay price will only be a good one come Jan i think, when the prices go up

I just seen what the prices will be going up to

£149 for Home Premium

WINDOWS 7 DISCOUNT PRICES
Home Premium - £79.99
Professional - £189.99
Ultimate - £199.99

WINDOWS 7 RETAIL PRICES
Home Premium - £149.99
Professional - £219.99
Ultimate - £229.99

it's their standard prices

MS should really just keep home premium = £50, pro £75, ultimate £100

they'd get way more sales

Packaging will cost them little so why not drop the price & sell more? I think the reason some will pirate it is the big price tag, perhaps (I don't know) if the price was better less would take that risk.

think I'll order my copy at the end of the month, Home premium seems like a great price & hopefully you still have stock at the offer price :)

i think your missing the point, they will sell just as much, win7 is gonna be here for 3 years at least so most people will migrate in that time when they upgrade hardware. However these early low prices are just to get the IT bods on board, and what are we telling are people "windows 7 is good" so i think enough people want to get off XP (because its getting on a bit) and Vista because by large its not great (although i had no issues with it myself)

Lmao, I put my copy of HP retail on the bay and within 10mins someone messaged me saying why it was more than OCUK at £72.99 and I said they should get it from ocuk because once they realise the prices went up everywhere else today they will do the same....not an hour later look what OcUK do :p

Methinks someone from OcUK messaged me ¬_¬
