Hi guys,
I got back from Uni on Friday and set my PC up at home. I have a DLink Wireless N Router with 6 devices connected wirelessly and 1 via Ethernet. All of these machines work fine, but when I plugged the wireless adapter into my machine from Uni, the problems have started.
I connect to my wireless network and can see all the other networked machines, but Windows tells me I have no Internet Connection. At first, I ran the in built diagnostics but this told me it couldn't find a problem. So far I have:
- Updated Adapter driver,
- Tried the PC via Ethernet, it works fine,
- Ran Virus scan,
- Disabled firewall,
- Checked IPv4 and v6 settings,
- Checked Proxy settings,
- Tried the network without a WPA key,
- Checked all Network services are running,
- And removed Apple Bonjour that the Internet told me may be a problem.
And none of these have resolved my issue. It's really quite annoying. The PC worked fine wirelessly back in October and now it won't work at all wirelessly, no matter how close to the router I get so it can't be a signal problem.
Another thing that crossed my mind was that in order to connect the University network, it ran an auto connect tool that asked for my Username and Password. But as far as I can see, there are no settings about that which relate to authentication.
So, can anybody on OcUK help me?
Thanks.
