Fugly, it looks like a cheap childs toy, it looks like they started drawring it in crayon and then said "yes thats the look were after...."

Honestly its really not a good look, i'm running it now in the hope BF4 will run better on it than 7, is this true?

Yes it will. Did you install 8 or 8.1 ?

I just moved to Windows 8. Loving it so far :). Except it lost some of my .exe icons for no reason. Fixed easily with an icon cache rebuild though.

I don't mind it, it's not that bad, you can always change the theme to something less 'drawy'

I'm getting Windows 8.1 when it's released in a couple of weeks, doing my Haswell upgrade this weekend, will make do with the Windows 8.1 preview for time being.

Daft question, but will all steam games work with Windows 8 now?

I didnt have any issues with my steam games on win8.
Cool, if you find any that don't, then post in this thread if you can, I might make a new thread in the games section, see what the scope is...

Hope the graphics drivers are decent for Windows 8.1 uh oh... Nvidia lol :(

Put this in the Windows forum and wait for the usual crowd to jump on you. Seriously it's quite funny watching them jump on every single anti-Windows 8 thread.

I enjoy winding them up. :p

It's not bad ,all about customisation, here is mine on Win8.1 Pro x64 RTM and yes all my games run fine even Steam/Origin ones.

Remember with Win8.1 you can boot straight to the old desktop UI,

What a novel thread, not seen one of these before.

:D

I am getting sick of these. We know that some people don't like Windows 8. We also know that some people do. Can we not just leave it at that? I've repeated my gripes enough times, to have people ignore those gripes and not actually just admit, "Yes, an option would have been a good idea at least for the early OSes of the Start Screen."

If Elevon, theheyes, gareth & Glaucus all just agree to that I will stop posting it. ;)

I'm not overly keen on it but I've not had the time to sit down and crack on to make it my own. So have just 'made do' with Windows 7. Elevon, how does Steams Big Picture mode work under it? Any problems?

When I click on Steam tile for example it launches to the old desktop UI like you get on Win7 with normal Steam UI etc,if you click the big picture mode it goes full screen sort of looks like Windows Store but Steam version, however when you exit Steam "to return to desktop" stays on the old desktop with normal Steam UI up .

No problems, however I normally just use the standard Steam UI ie not in big picture mode.

Here is screenshot of big picture mode,
