Windows bootup time on an SSD

yes but these overclocked systems dont like sleep mode...crashes .....overclockers told me to turn off sleep mode .
As im a work all day there is no need to have the pc on .

That's just daft! The whole point of overclocking is that the system still works fine. Are you saying Overclockers the shop told you to turn off sleep mode?

I have a 1.83GHz E4300 overclocked to 3.2GHz - has run like that for 2.5 years without a single problem, I always use S3, only ever actually shut it down if I'm going away for a few days at a time when I turn things off at the wall.

yes overclockers ( the shop ) told me to turn off sleep mode cause when it does go into sleep mode it crashes ....as i dont use sleep mode it does not bother me ...just easier to turn it off and save power when not in use ....i can go for a week without using it then may use it for 3 days in a row .

I have heard that an updated bios ( beta version ) actually fixes the sleep mode issue when overclocked ....

fresh install of Win7 on a machine i built for a mate with three 90/70 cheap samsungs in raid0 was only taking 10 seconds from start of the windows load screen after POST to browsing in firefox.

from the instant I get the windows starting screen to being fully usable win 7 is only 12.41 seconds. I just upgraded last night. Really not much of a difference in boot times over Vista what only 3 secs? But at least I have claimed more of my ssd back from the Vista GB monster! It's like I bought another 15gb ssd. :D

Its the bios thats the problem like you said. Its been fixed now in the f8 bios. Hows the best way to configure the S3 in the bios? Theres a few options.
