you have not wasted my time, dont worry. Il reset back to IDE and try and install that driver.
Yeah you can, but try the battery 1st seeing as everyone thinks that will cure it. It is worth a shot before going down the firmware root, though if you cant remove the battery look in the manual and see if there is a jumper to reset the bios, you are looking for the CMOS reset jumper, just move it over to the other 2 pins then put it back, it should do the same as pulling the battery.
you could always get another drive and use this as storage once in windows
jack.....did you take the battery out of the mobo for at least a minute? if not can you humour me and do it?
if that still doesnt work have you tried the drive in another machine? maybe format it then try it in yours again?
