Windows cannot find drives. (PLEASE HELP!)

im here dont worry. Im totally lost have no idea whats going on, and to make matters worse the driver cd doesnt match whats in the manual. I hope its something to do with the DVDRW cause its doing my head in. The whole reason i dissapeared is cause im using some lame laptop haha. Not a clue what ive to do now

Yeah you can, but try the battery 1st seeing as everyone thinks that will cure it. It is worth a shot before going down the firmware root, though if you cant remove the battery look in the manual and see if there is a jumper to reset the bios, you are looking for the CMOS reset jumper, just move it over to the other 2 pins then put it back, it should do the same as pulling the battery.

In the process of doing that atm, just getting other things ready incase

I may just go to ****** and buy a f*n new HDD tomorow. Either way im going to my bed haha. Cant thank you guys enough for the help. Il go tomorow and see what ****** have to offer. Dont know what I'll do with my £40 hard drive though :S

you guys will not belive this.

I went to my local electronics retailer and bought a new HDD. since im such a n00b i bought the exact same HDD. Couldnt belive my stupidity. I thought meh, might as well try it, the guys says il get my 50£ back if it doesnt work. The exact same HDD. (see where this is going?)

So i plug it in, and wow, its working!

I stick the OCuk faulty one in the box (THE EXACT SAME) and im going to take it back!

hahaha!

Thanks so much for all your help, I know that if i encounter any more problems this is the place to go.

Cheers,

Jack
