Has anyone had one of these messages, just wondering how serious it is IE is my hard drive about to stop working at any second?

The hdd is 2 years old and is my primary hdd with windows 7 install on it.

Thanks.

I am using hdtune to see if theres a problem, under the health tab there is reallocated sector count - 36 and it says warning. Everything else looks ok.

Running a scan now.

wouldn't worry about it too much tbh I've had a 750meg Samsung doing this for the last 3 years :) and its still going strong

Ok, done a error scan with hdtune - damaged blocks 0.0%

Should I try using acronis drive monitor as pc monkey suggested, or can I safely put this down to being a false positive?

If it has reallocated sectors it beens the drive is damaged. I wouldn't continue using it without caution.

You should watch that number and if you find it is increasing replace the drive ASAP.

I use drives with bad sectors however only for testing.
