Windows Live Messenger Problem

Ok guys i just reformatted my computer, installed window messenger signed in to my old account and i have no contacts. they have completely disappeared :confused:

so panicking i installed msn 7.5 and low and behold my contacts are still on there but all of my groups have gone and it's all a mess again! 321 contacts to sort out fun! Anyone know whats causing windows live messenger to not pick up my contacts?

hmm, now i just installed msn 7.5 and it has all my contacts on there but none of the groups, but if i go onto my laptop and sign into msn 7.5 it has my groups and contacts :confused:

something is up here lol

ok just managed to sign back into my account on windows live messenger and for some reason 5 of my 321 contacts are on there but the other's are not. what the hell is going on lol?

Same just installed live on my new comp and lost half of my contacts, after a while though, a day or so i think its all back to normal and all of my contacts are back

Yeah some people been having problems. Download 7.5 wait a day and install Live and you should be g00d to go.

Didn't happen to me though.

Read on mess.be forums that Microsoft are having some problems MSN & Yahoo Integration. They are working on the problem at the moment and should be sorted soon

I'm using Miranda in the mean time as it connects fast, contacts all appear and just generally works

Same problem. Keep trying and more of your contacts will appear. Give it a day or two.

Gah mine started working again last night but now it's gone bonkers again I signed in to 0 contacts and my first name as my display name only in caps "LUKE"

Personal display message gone also, only changed my name and display message all back last night , annoying bug, wonder whats up.

Grr!! I have the same problem and to be honest I am disgusted. This issue is fundamental flaw in my opinion . How microsoft could release something which cannot even do the most basic feature that IM programs are made for- the ability to have contacts. - is beyond me!!!!

imho this is a pretty dire bug even by Microsofts low standards!

should have a pint of beer instead, just re-installed and it won't even sign me in! back on msn 7.5 and all contacts are there but all of my groups are gone! however on my laptop on msn 7.5 my groups are still there :confused:

any ideas?

That won't fix it as it the problem lies at Microsoft's end of things. You just need to keep trying and things should start to work again

All things back to normal here now, nice and speedy connecting too

hmm true, but the thing is if i don't keep trying a re-install i can't use msn so i have to get rid of it to be able to get on anything, you have any ideas why my groups are on msn on my laptop but not my comp?
