I have just built a mate's PC using a Crucial M4 64Gb with a Seagate Barracuda 500Gb storage drive. However, the HDD is not appearing in My Computer but it does appear in the BIOS. Any idea what's happening?

Check Disk Management.

If it's a new drive you need to format it and allocate a drive letter before it shows in My Computer.

Right click on my computer, select manage, click on Disk Management.

Aha! Yes, it appears as Disk 0 and is labelled Basic and Unallocated- what do I do? Damn, I need to learn how software works!
