Hi fracrem30

Welcome to the forums.

may I ask that you read the forum rules and familiarise yourself with them.

Thanks

What's the "true" benefits of purchasing Windows? It is so easily and readily available from various different sources for free.

The truth is there are no benefits to purchasing it unfortunately.

However... that's all just nonsense and you should have course purchase it right here from OcUK for £80 :D

The only thing I'm aware of that doesn't work on "cracked" Windows 7 is some software from Microsoft.com which requires a mandatory WGA check before installation.

Whilst the majority of cracks are pretty simple for Microsoft to pick-up it's possible to activate it so it works like it's 100% legit and almost impossible for Microsoft to prevent with the way licensing currently works.

Wonder what they're planning for Windows 8.

Still, it's the principle behind it. If you can afford a custom built PC, you can afford the OS :p

It would be nice and quite refreshing for a cracked version of MS Windows to blow up your rig. :)

not going to happen tho'

Sounds like your a bit miffed you forked out 80 quid when you really didn't need to :p.

As mentioned. The cracked versions work 100% the same as the originals. Updates, software from MS etc. It's all the same and undetectable. It even gives you the "verified software" emblem and congratulates you on using genuine software.

Very annoying for Microsoft losing a few hundred million $$$

Extremely annoying for the fools who paid 80 quid for software that's flawed when it can be attained for much less.

Like I said. These are my own personal views and I don't encourage piracy or law breaking of any kind. One should always purchase genuine software like my self from OcUK.

Just out of interest, the trial version of Windows 7 Enterprise is still available, and with a bit of well-timed use of "slmgr -rearm" it can be used for up to 600 days without needing a reinstall. No need to worry about cracks, or whether or not MS will zap you one day with an anti-piracy hotfix.

Obviously, you'd only be using it for evaluation purposes and not in a production environment, oh, no...

Surely it's always a losing battle though, that only puts off a few people because it's too complicated/not worth the hassle when it's £40-ish pre-order or relatively cheap afterwards.

Big companies spend big money on anti-piracy, a group of people find a way around it within weeks.
