Windows Vista Theme (pic inside)

so what am i supposed to do with this orion_glass.rar file? i have downloaded smoe file i think called uxtheme.dll and replaced it in the system32 folder and restarted but now im stuck. anyone help?

Within the Zip file, there are 4 files (I think)

1 is the desktop wallpaper
1 is the visual styles file
1 .dll file
1 .bat file (icon should look like a dos window)

Run the .bat file by double clicking on it. This will replace the .dll file allowing you to use 3rd party visual styles.

Restart the computer, double click on the Visual Styles file which you extracted earlier, press OK.. and fingers crossed, it should be there. let us know how it goes.
 
last night I tried this and my computer didn't like the new .dll so when i restarted it came up with errors saying things weren't working for just about everything UI related.

To be honest it's probably because the file got corrupted on download (firefox has been doing that a lot since the last update).

Managed to run system restore from Taskmgr to sort it again.

Will try again today.
 
just wonde4ring if this slows down windows at all, never installed windowblinds before and thinking of getting it?
 
if you go to neowin, theres detailed instructions on this and its simple, free and doesnt slow windows

what is the visual styles that i extracted?

the only files in the folder named uxtheme_sp2, are uxtheme.dll and theme_update, theme_update says its updating old files on a blasck screen, and uxtheme.dll asks how it should be opened, which i dont know what program it shouyld be opened with.

Anyone help on what to do?

Also i have a file named orion_glass.rar, although i beleive it was from a seperate place as its in a different folder, should i do anything with this?
 
works great, I used the uxtheme installer programme then opened the theme and selected it,, job done :)

Is there anywhere that i can download some more uxthemes from???
