Ok basically back in spring/early summer I bought some Rain-X type stuff from Aldi (yeah I know :o ) Anyway it worked ok for a bit then stopped doing much, a bit like my previous experience with Rain-X. However my screen is smearing worse and worse and unlike Rain-X this stuff is supposed to last for a year

Basically I want to shift it and give my screen a really good clean and then finishing the job with some new wipers.

Anyone got any idea what might shift it? Something that won't strip the paint off my car when I spill it would be good :p Somehow I don't think white vinegar and newspaper is going to touch this stuff :(

TIA :)

some of that windscreen polish thats made by the people who make T-Cut?

Its supposed to be a glass "cutting" compound, so it should get rid of the Aldi windscreen crud

Thanks for the ideas so far. I've got a pot of Isopropyl in the garage already which I hadn't even considered using, so I guess that is worth a punt before I buy anything else.

Polish probably wont shift an oil based substance, need something like isopropyl to cut through the oil/grease. After that polish it and you shouldnt really need rain-x.
