Desert sweet (sugary) or non-dry?

The Dr Loosen Riesling 2006 would be a good call for non-desert.

Alternatively Gwurtztraminer.

The 6 mixed case looks nice. I can't comment on the individual bottles, but they are all types (apart from the CdP) that I drink on a regular basis. I've never had M&S wine, but I should imagine that you can get better, cheaper, elsewhere.

For £50 I would set your sights on 2 good bottles rather than one. Diminishing returns going above about £25 in my opnion. What about two nice bottles of Montrachet? Can't go wrong with that.

The only issue as that I can't see any year on the bottles but the spread is good - personally I'd go for the 6 bottle.

The 6 bottle looks like it's got two/three bottles and the rest as filler. 8-9degC means they want to take the taste away! Cool but not cold!

Well it's varied thing - the better the white the warmer it can be served (usually). Sweet desert wines are normally served cooler.
