Winter 2012/13

Where about? I spent a few weeks in Chile and Argentina a few years back and it was awesome. Would love to go back again sometime.

Was thinking New Zealand. I've got a few mates who are looking at Snow Park, which sounds grand to me. The idea has only really just come to me though so I've got to work out logistics.

I've done a season in Australia and it was awesome. Warm sunny days cruising the parks in a hoody, and getting paid a decent wage at work.

Cheers Ocuk :).

Can't get over how hot it is.

And the numbers for anyone interested; 28.1 miles, 6,205ft elevation gain.

Does anyone have any good tips for last minute packages? Also the GF is interested in learning is it best to grab a cheap deal and get her some lessons or get her some lessons at the snowdome?

Last minute have some good deals sometimes, but always check the price of booking everything yourself first. I found a good deal when I went to Austria. I was going to book it but first phoned the hotel/check flights on carriers website and it actually worked out cheaper.

If you can get your girl to a snowdome it will definitely help. She'll still need lessons out there but it's good to get a feel for it first.

For the best last minute deal, turn up to a large resort, find a hotel and offer to pay for a room in cash. They'll have block booked loads of rooms to operators which will be empty.

That does sound like a good idea but I am not sure the mrs will be to keen. :D

I have found a deal for andorra with a first time ski package. 1 week with lessons lift pass and equipment for 400. In the Pas de la Casa.

Does anyone have any experiance of the resort. It is for Mid March. Would the snow be much good? I have read Andorra being friendly for beginners. I am a little more advanced but not worried about getting bored. I want the lady to get hooked like me. :D

If there are just the 2 of you, you can get some great package deals as well. Been a while since I've done one, but did one when as it was 2 of us and we booked a week before, it was a weeks catered chalet holiday for 199quid each. That was with SilverSki.

Worth looking out if you're flexible and willing to be quick.

Haha, I know what you mean. My family came back from Canada and I was subjected to watching endless footage of the kids going down blue runs.

Just got back from 8 days skiing in Tignes/ Val D'isere. Really managed to hone my technique by the end of the trip and was skiing well, controlled and really enjoying it. We had great conditions - quite a few bluebird days, seemed to snow most nights, cold conditions though as it was usually about -15 each day! Hooked now and wanting next year to come around for the next ski trip!
