Residents in Ratby, Leicestershire had no gas since Tuesday as water main flooded the gas pipe https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leicestershire-68158511

So places such as pubs and takeaways and other businesses that require gas had to close.

Glad this didn’t happen when we had the extreme cold weather

Well that sun has gone and drizzle set in but mild , been doing this council route for 10 years and maybe seen 5 people on it, use it as a minimum daily walk as a steepish 45 min hill

Even Tokyo has heavy snow what do we get? Nuffin! Seen a couple of flurries in december and thats it for this winter I think.

Lot of talk about a band of heavy snow across the midlands but so far aside from over high ground looks like it will be quickly followed by or accompanied by rain and/or temperatures too marginal for it to be anything but pretty damp stuff.

Snow expected in Manc land tomorrow.

Yesterday was most peculiar with the day starting mild and definitely fleece weather and then come 3pm was absolutely freezing and most definitely coat and thermal weather
