Interesting at least here it is quite a penetrating cold, despite being around 4-5C if you are out in it you quickly lose body heat like it is in the minuses - there doesn't even seem to be any real wind chill factor which might contribute to that.

The gene pool up here is " shallow" compared to down south when it comes to constant blondes....
Everyone tends to work out and is sporty (not me) so that goes a long way too.

My wife, no im not gay, a surprise to even me, is from the northern sweden gene pool, short fat eskimo with pretty eyes and a lovely smile... :p looool
A lot of women up here are "frontier" types, can shoot and skin a moose then make you meatballs in 30 mins whilst chopping wood and looking after the kids. I live in the wild west.. (north)

Cold, isolated and inbred? That does sound like where you'd fit in :p

I don't see it amounting to much but now forecasting light snow here (south Somerset) Thursday into Friday and temperatures over the weekend dropped off a lot on the BBC forecast.

Finally put heating on for a few hours to get the living room up and to a bearable temp (16c) as it was almost 10c this morning.

So how are you standing up to this cold weather? Emigrated somewhere warmer or just gone into deep hibernation?

Just paying the big gas bill! Only heating the room I'm in.

Its expensive. But at least I don't pay petrol for commute and still on a cheap tariff

Does anyone use a heated jacket or gilet etc. for working from home during winter? Just wondering if it's worth the expenditure...

Someone at work recommended: https://www.ororowear.com/

I've got my doubts though - would I have cold hands & feet?

Anyone else have really bright moonlight last night and this morning? -1c now and everything frozzed in the garden again. Met Office saying a max of 2c here today, clear and sunny again. Walk to work will be beautiful :)
