Winter 2024/25 - Cold or Mild? Rain or Snow?

A bit of surface frost but not too cold so walked to Rough Tor and a scramble up it

The storm is coming for Friday winds in Ireland going to be 125 -130 mph and possible strong ones for the North of England

Looks like peak wind speeds could be reasonably severe, possibly more than expected, over a large part of the UK and Ireland, but that core making landfall on the Irish west coast looks very very bad.

I'm not looking forward to the wind tomorrow. I live on a hill in rural Northern Ireland, but at least my house is a bungalow.

Stay safe, everyone!

Wind level dropped for my area was supppsed to be 70-75 gusts but dropped to 55 to 65 gusts now. Luckily it’s coming from the South, South west direction so shouldn’t cause any damage. But bins have gone in the garage just in case.
Definitely calm before the storm it’s Sunny quite nice temperature wise and a slight breeze.

Red wind warning up around Edinbugh, amber warning here in Hampshire and more miffed about the grey skies plus rain.

I received the NI GOV Alert for red weather warning while playing Delta Force and thought the PC had blown up!
I'm also in the red area. Just been reading that alerts will be sent ~1800.

I never got an alert when they tested the system a couple of years ago. Have changed networks since then, so I'll wait and see.

I never got an alert when they tested the system several years ago. I have changed networks since then, so I'll wait and see.
I had one via my work phone, which is Vodafone, and a few minutes later, my personal one, which is Giffgaff.
