Winter Olympics 2010

My god I was crying with laughter watching the women's downhill. Classic!

Clip from BBC.
Normally i would find that hilarious. But, having done something very similar at buisc today, i'm kinda feeling bad for the poor lass.
The olympics may be (very slightly :p) more important as well.
Unfortunate mistake.

edit: can't actually watch that again :( so gutted for her. This cheered me up a little tho.

Not really seeing the vibe with the half pipe. A couple of tricks were ok but the rest just all doing the same moves.

I guess you could say the same about any of the sports but parks have never really attracted me.

New sport for next Olympics however should be off piste downhill, complete with cliff jumps and coliers. There are already loads of international comps so... :p

Half pipe is a deceiving sport. On TV, it's not particularly impressive, but if you go and stand in an olympic halfpipe, it's seriously scary to think how high those guy (and girls) are flying.

Off piste downhill sounds like a good addition to the schedule :D (but we all know skiiers cry at off piste :p)
While we're at it, lets get some downhill sledging in there as well :D

It's something i'd like to have a proper go at and the heights they go to is pretty impressive, just it all looks the same.:D

Pah, skiiers invented off piste.;) Just because snowboarding makes it so easy a 5 year old can do it...:p

Off piste is brilliant fun. Unless you have a skiier with you. They moan forever about it, then lose a ski and spend hours digging for it.

Thanks. God we're rubbish aren't we. :D
Looking at the medal table, yes. But there's more to it than that.
There are several team GB athletes who have done very well when you consider the facilities in the uk compared to other countries.
For example: Chemmy alcott - finished 13th overall in the womens downhill today and Zoe Gillings who finished 8th in the girls boardercross yesterday.

Im sure we will have a few more athletes doing us proud by the end of the games as well.

Meh! You need better skiing friends. :p

Problem is skiing (off piste especially) is a lot more difficult than boarding most of the time, it's a lot less forgiving with mistakes from what I understand. Means you have to have a lot more experience skiing to be able to do some of the stuff that boarders find easy.

EDIT: Shaun White, wow! Much better!
