Chrome?
Wired Mouse stutter - Windows 11

Yes, but some sites on chrome (bbc news as an example) work fine, whereas other hitch. Still baffled. Gone out for the day, left windows to reinstall and will finish when I get back, hopefully that sorts it.
Please keep me posted, I've literally been on the same Windows install since Vista...

Well, that didn't work. Gone through a repair install of windows, no difference. Not quite sure what to try next... So frustrating!
Forgot to mention - the games I had installed in gamepass all showed errors when I tried to load them. Steam games were fine (loaded crusader King's 3, worked fine but with hitching). Something odd has happened.

Ah, a repair install? I thought you were going to do a clean install? Literally touching my wooden, well composite desk, as I type and I'm literally seeing no stutter. I've no doubt it'll be back again at some point though... I've had nothing of use, re: troubleshooting, on any of the MS forums

How do you accessed internet? Wifi or ethernet?
I found many reports same issue with X570 Tomahawk WIFI.
Found one user managed to fixed mouse shuttering with 2 feet USB 2.0 extension cable to avoided signal interference from Wifi antenna.

Ah, yes, I actually do... I've a mesh node nearby though so I'm going to try a wired connection to that. It's typically not doing it at moment but it should still stop it coming back. Thanks!

Yes I think it could be MSI thing or X570 Tomahawk WIFI motherboard or interference issue.I've gone back to wired for the time being and still no return of the stutter... if it is/was a MSI thing, you'd have thought they'd have fixed it by now, surely?

My niece used wifi to access internet, she used wireless bluetooth keyboard and wireless bluetooth mouse in her bedroom upstair, she cant used ethernet because the router is downstair in living room, she did not had mouse shutter with ASUS TUF Gaming Z790 PLUS WIFI motherboard.
Bah, after all that, it's returned... been playing around things all day, no joy. Razer Synapse 4 is horrible btw!
It's possible that I either have two dodgy mice (Razer/SteelSeries) displaying the same symptoms or that I need to reinstall Windows. I haven't done a fresh install since early 7.
Might try a source a different mouse to try first though

Sorry team, me again... I've been using my rig a lot recently and I've been experiencing the dreaded mouse stutter. Things seem fine from boot, certainly in recently memory, but it appears to mainly come from any period of idleness - it has to be a power setting right?
My computer doesn't sleep but the monitor does and after a while, 30 mins I think it is, the lock screen kicks in. Does my head in

Your power profile in Windows, what is it set to? It should be on balanced by default, max performance doesn't let the CPU cores throttle down so will always be using high power even when idle which is not optimum.
Also leave task manager open and move the mouse around, can you see the CPU cores spike when each stutter happens? And then sort the view in the next tab by CPU usage and monitor which executable is polling during the spikes as the mouse is being moved around to narrow it down.
Also are you using an 8k mouse or something now? It's a bit pointless using super high refresh rates as these will use more CPU cycles if none of the above are issues. My 8k gaming mouse is on 1k for example and I barely notice any difference on a 240Hz monitor when gaming
