Hello people, any ideas on this?
On Sunday afternoon our downstairs WAP (wired to the upstairs draytek 2860n router via external wiring)and skybox stopped getting an Internet connection. The skybox is connected to the WAP via ethernet cable as they sit next to each other.
I naturally thought the WAP had simply died so swapped it with a spare home hub but this did the same thing. The next thing I tested was the wiring and all patch cables with a cable tester and they were all fine.
Moving upstairs and connecting to the wifi is fine, over 5ghz the dl/ul speeds are 72/19 which is bang on what the draytek is reporting.
With the cables testing ok, I plugged the skybox directly into the switch and then the router and still it cant connect to the Internet.
My next thought was dhcp which is run from the draytek but everything is reporting the correct ip, even manually assigned ip's on wired systems cant get see the Internet.
LAN wise everything works, I can stream to everything and copy files across wired networks, the wifi network can see everything that is wired and see the Internet. Meanwhile everything wired works on LAN but not WAN.
As a final test I plugged the home hub directly into the router, changed the ssid and connected to this test wifi connection, from this i can see everything on the LAN but can not get the Internet because its final connection is a cable to the draytek.
Just to add, nothing is running W10
Help me I'm going insane.
