Hi guys me and my neighbour have decided to cut cost of having 2 internet accounts so have decided to share one account. So anyway im having trouble connecting to his wireless network when using my Desktop pc, i can connect using my lappy and ipad but not my main pc whats the reason for this anyone know ?

The big wall between your houses. Are the two properties attached? The card in the desktop may just be of lower quality, or your using the laptop nearer the router.

Also, hope your ISP doesn't find out.

a) lack or wireless signal
b) your desktop is G and the otehrs are N
c) driver issues

get a usb adapter with high gain antenna and usb extention cable...

I wonder if this is the problem your desktop is G and the otehrs are N will have to see if i can get a new usb adapter that uses N

The Usb wireless adapter i have now is WLAN 802.11b so looks like i need a new one.

Are you connected with limited conectivity or is there no signal at all? If there is signal have you tried manually assigning ip and gateway?
Also consider that the USB transmiter might not be strong enough to penetrate through and reach the router despite detecting the routers SSID.
