Wireless ranges and Arials

Do differnt laptops have betetr ranges to connect to wireles networks than others.

Will an Arial make any odds to me getting a better signal, or a signal at all..

The wireless card i have, buffola one, is about 2 years old, are newer cards better now ?

Just a few questions i could do with being answered....

I would imagine so. Newer laptops will have a better wireless card than older ones, no?

I don't see why not. A TV is better with an aerial than without.

Compare the specifications of your card against a few new ones and find out.

Perhaps a Mod could move to Internet and connectivity where there may be more advice

is it a laptop wireless card?

anyway, many different brands of laptops are better/worse at connecting to wireless because of the aerial arrangement inside them.

in my current latop (Toshiba satellite) the aerial is a small coil under the motherboard. on my old laptop (an Acer), the aerial was a huge grid behind the screen.

simply put, the Acer was FAR better at connecting to networks that were very far away.
