Who's had them taken out? Who's had them come through with no problems? Who hasn't had them grown in yet?

I'm 24 and it's becoming more and more noticeable on just one side, at the top. I'm just hoping they continue to grow through and the discomfort disappears.

Top 2 taken out when I was around 25, went into dentist, a couple of injections and pulled them out no problem. They were coming out the side, impacted at 45 degree angle. I was eating the same evening after getting these out.

Bottom 2 are where they are, they are impacted but line up to the back teeth perfectly so not moving anywhere. No reason having them out unless I get infection since there is a major nerve that runs down there.

I had my lower left wisdom tooth removed about six months ago (it was growing into the gum).

I made a huge mistake right after having it out; there was the usual standard bit of blood coming out the wound after tooth removal and I was spitting this blood/saliva out (once I was home, not out in the street) - what I didn't know was that the action of spitting has dislodged the clot that formed in the open socket, as such mine didn't heal properly and I ended up with "dry socket" and it was bloody PAINFUL for days.

Get the tooth out, but don't spit, smoke, eat or drink anything for a couple of hours after the procedure, let the clot form properly and save yourself about a week of agony!

I am seriously tempted to get them all pulled out. I have issues frequently which is a little bit depressing given it makes eating painful.

4 wisdom teeth pulled out. Was about 14? Still have them somewhere. Wasn't a nice experience but hey, only temporary. They didn't come out easy, anesthesia was somewhat lacking, due to an allergy problem. Oh well. Some bone cutting, sutures, disgusting mouth wash, couldn't eat proper for two weeks, jawline like Coulthard.

Not trying to put you off or anything. In any case, have it done if it is necessary. It's not like you'll miss them.

I'm a more advanced human, no wisdom teeth.
On an evolution scale, I'm higher :D

You're just not wise enough :p.

Mine are seriously bad growing forward instead of up/down so it's ruined my straight teeth. I started a thread about irrational fears over this same thing after having finally dragged myself to the dentist (almost passed out) I find out they can't do it and it requires surgery at hospital. Woe is me. Still waiting to hear when I can get it done.

I imagine my teeth won't go back to being straight now :(.

14?! Don't they start to grow through when you're adult? No wonder they didn't come out easy. Your jaw wasn't even fully developed yet.

On my left side I have one top and bottom.

Bottom one slightly broke through my gum 5 years ago and decided to stay there. Though a few weeks ago I had a painful infection there. Must have gone through enough salt water and corsodyl to disinfect a sewer!

My top one is coming out at a funny angle - heading towards my cheek rather than straight down. Was a bugger with the aforementioned infection as my lower gums/cheek were swollen and I kept biting it with the upper tooth.

Bloody things are wise in name only!

I should probably get them out, but I already gave my dentist his Christmas money when I got a crown fitted. They can sod off for a while! :p

Having never been for a dentist checkup for about 20 years, around 2006 had a lower one taken out, I had it done at private dentist, he injected it about 6 times, I had no tooth showing, was a cavity, ripped it out no problem. I went back two days later and had a molar cavity taken out.

Never missed a 6 month checkup since. A friend of mine she had impacted wisdom teeth, that's a hospital job, she came out looking like the ending of a Rocky Balboa movie "Aidrian, Aidrian! I love you!".

I've had my two upper ones removed at the dentist aged 33. They both had really curly roots and were in at an angle. The first took around ten minutes to pull and them second took him nearly half an hour to get out. I think he did everything bar putting his knee on my chest.

I have two coming through on the bottom, which the dentist said they are at an angle but might be ok. I haven't been back for a couple of years so i'm just praying they are ok.

I've got all four of the buggers. They were a bit uncomfortable when they came out but now they're fine and I dont really notice or think about it. I wasn't allowed to have them out just for discomfort at the time though.

Had em causing problems sometimes, recently one has started growing through and got infected badly for a few days. I resisted going to dentist but the other one seems to be growing sideways. Think I'll have to express my concern at the next appointment unless something catastrophic happens before then :p these are the bottom ones btw haven't had any problem with top but dentist said they would need removing :s

i'm 28, i've had 3 come through, 1 hurt for a day as it pushed all my teeth down and twisted one of my front ones slightly, apart from that they were ok but no sign of the last one on the top right, i can feel it under my gum though and plenty of room for it so i guess that will be ok too.
