Witcher 3 - Next Gen Enhancement

Downloaded the update for the PS5 but I thought it would simply be an update, not a whole new product with a whole new set of trophies. It seems I can either switch over to using the updated version using my save from the cloud (currently in Skellige) but have no trophies, or play the older version from where I left off.

Why is that a hard choice? The update is objectively better.

Not really hard, just a bit annoying. I've played through the game twice including both DLCs on Xbox, then got half way through the main game on PS4/5 but stopped waiting for the patch, not knowing it would be a separate game. So I'll have to abandon that game and start again on the PS5 version.

I thought the save is transferable? You said that in your post.

Just playing through novigrad / triss and dandelion / zoltan story line. Still loving it. Can’t believe a game with quests / things to do / see is SEVEN years old. Like yeah I know the combat can be a bit janky. But everything else, sublime. Love the writing, characters and locations.

Edit. One thing that bugs me a little is my Witcher senses seem to be 30fps where normal gameplay is 60!?

I'm playing this for the first on my series x having completing it years ago on Death March on the PC. Does anyone have trouble with Roach doing dumb stuff, e.g. can't go backwards, gets stuck on rocks etc.? I don't recall Roach being hard to ride on the PC but he gets near uncontrollable on the Series X.

Yeah controlling roach has always been crap. I usually just run everywhere as you now get infinite stamina outside of battle.

Shame, Roach is great for killing with as it increases the damage when using the swords at canter or gallop speeds. Never recall having issues on the PC but meh he gets stuck on the dumbest of things and then the fear builds up and you fall off!

Put a few more hours in and its finally clicked again, just like I hoped it would! Took a while to get used to the combat again, but now coming to terms with it and, the rest well is just a masterpiece waiting to be discovered all over again, perfect game to play over the Christmas period :D

Just checked all shows as 60fps for me.

Just reached skellige about level 20. The island are even more stunning than I remember! And that music, my god.

edit. Started blood and wine this weekend. Loving these sky boxes!
