Witcher 3 - performance low on 980 Ti using 1080p

Like in topic guys. I dont know if my 980 ti really performing ok. I am playing on ultra details, hairworks on, 1920x1080 and sometimes ( at time 7:50 pm ) i get dips to even 37 fps. Screenshot below: Of course in game there are not much areas like here on screen, but i am little worried about this.

Is this normal? I cant play on maxed details even with 980 ti ?


rest of pc is:
4790k stock
8gb ram
Corsair 750 RM
i am using the newest drivers 353.49 + windows 7 SP1
 
Hairworks is most likely you're issue.

Turn that off and you'll be golden.

There is a patch 1.07 due very soon that will have further performance improvements as well.
 
Temps 83C, boost 1050-1070mhz, GPU LOAD 96-99%.
So i think its ok. But i am thinking why sometimes i get dips to 37 fps on that card?!


Somebody with 980 ti told me that he have always 60 fps even with hairworks on, so why i have 37 fps here?
 
That boost is a bit poor and 83C is default throttle limit.

How is your cooling?

A lot of people use ultra presets and then knock foliage distance and shadows down to high.
 
37 fps is very low and I have never gone that low at 1440P with my Titan X and everything maxed. Your clocks are very low though and boosting to 1050/1070 is wrong and it should be boosting to around 1220+. Have you got your PC setup in an oven?

My thoughts exactly.

What's your case/fan setup?
Is the PC right against the wall & can't exhaust heat?
Potential defective fan/heatsink placement?
Test using MSI afterburner to see temps with more aggressive fan profile.
How does it run when kept below 75c?
How hot is it in your room?.

My GTX 970 had performance close(ish) to that with those settings @ 1080p.
 
Yes it PCIE 3.0 x 16 i check in gpuz. Also other games runs fine, Crysis 3 fps is good.
3dmark 13 scores are ok too.

So why in Witcher 3 i get sometimes 37 fps ? 1920x1080 hairworks on my card.

I am running all maxed ultra .
 
No DSR ever. All default , through nvidia control panel.
Divine Pain screenshot of settings is a must:)? I say, all options in game sliders to ultra, 1920x1080 and hairworks on.

So expensive card and dips to 37 fps is riddiciouls. I dont think is normal. But suggesting from GPUZ ( gpu load 96-99% ) ?

It's the oranges, stop eating them - lag will leave.
 
Average 40-60 fps during ( 7:20 pm time in game ) walkthrough in forests. ( 1920 x 1080 + hairworks )


I check GPUZ gpu load and its 96-99%.

My case is on a desk . No walls nearby.:(
