Started the game today and this time im gonna finish it. I bought it on release got to act 2 in the city. Lost my save cause of a format and didnt remember to backup my saves.
Anyway im enjoying this game so much, i forgot how good it is and its dripping with atmosphere. Its just the little things that help make enjoy the game. From people running for cover when it rains to some a thug telling you to suck dwarf ****:p:D

Im playing the steam version which is the Enhanced Edition, i can already tell that its added so much more detail and i dont mean graphics wise. There seems to be more different skins for people instead of seeing about 5 different villagers, nearly all of them are different now. The music seems improved and theres already a lot more dialogue.
Im getting called all the names under the sun by villagers its so funny.

Play this game you must, if you already havent.

I've had this game for months and only last week did I really start enjoying it because I was stuck at a part for ages. I got right right into it and played it non stop for a few days, think I've almost completed it now.

Amazing game.

yup awesome game I didn't like it the first time I played as it was straight after dragon age but gave it a second shot some time after and can say I prefer it much more than DA

i was tempted to retry the enchanced edition as i loved the first incarnation which i played on a crappy amd64 3200, 1gb of memory and a x800 lol...

lets just say all the zoning was a real pain with that much memory, hopefully the sequel will be a lot like the original and not dumbed down for mass apeal

Bought this in the summer and am yet to install...

I have some time off over xmas, a new setup and G/F is working most hours...

I intend locking myself away to play it!

(also have Mass Effect 1 to play)

However this might all go out the window if HL2 EP3 arrives for Chrimbo...

Not normally a third person rpg fan but something made me buy this. Got quite into it but haven't played much for a while. In the swamp section atm.

The best bit about the game are the catch 22 choices you have to make, where there is no right or wrong - if you do it one way you're stuffed, and if you do it the other way your stuffed in a different way. And best of all you don't get to find out the consequences of each choice until much later in the game when you can't just re-load to change a decision. I agonised over some of the choices in the game, and that's a sign that they got them just right with no obvious 'good' or 'evil' choice. Everything was different shades of grey.

I really didn't get on with this game, just couldn't get engaged with it. Shame really as I am a big RPG fan. Keep looking at Divinity II on steam to get my sword and sorcery fix until DA2 comes out...

i remembered having the witcher pre-ordered when it first came out. its my favourite rpg by far. the witcher 2 i think is going to be 100x times betetr

i know exactly what you mean. i used to sit there for hours sometimes trying to make a decision. there is no black and white. just shades of grey ^^

I only recently started playing it too, loving it although had a 2 week gap and already feeling rather lost with the amount of quests in the city.

Best RPG since Vampire Bloodlines - Witcher 2 is my number 1 anticipated game right now.

Also helps that I am reading the last book right now (lady of the lake) :D

those books are amazing, better than LOTR I'd say (subjective of course - by better I mostly mean "****ing entertaining" where LOTR kind of bored me pretty often)

I didn't like the game and that baffles me. Everyone else seems to love it and when similar games are quoted in comparison they're always ones that I enjoyed. I might try playing it a third time but doubt it will change my opinion. What's wrong with me?

the trick with the witcher is that you have to take your time. if you rush it youll destroy it 4 yourself
