Wolfenstein media

Now at first glance those maps definately create the same type of atmosphere that the old ones did. I just hope the gameplay stands up, which Im sure it will.
 
Cant say those mp vids impressed me much, the mp40 sounds pretty dire, also the kar98 seems to have a stupidly long time for rebolting between shots.

I dunno if it was the way the game was being plaed or not but it seems (from those vids) that fully automatic = clicking the mouse like crazy instead of just holding the button down.

Is it me or did that server setup seem to say max players 12? And that was the pc version being played as well. :confused:


The actual maps look very static as well, didnt seem to be any kind of physics interaction of explosions or gunshots, just the usual indestructible world. :(

Apparently those vids are of a leaked beta as well. I dunno why i wanst made public, one of the things that made rtcw multi good was they released a beta, listed to criticisms and released another fine tuned version. Any comments ive seen of the leak say its like a game that feels several years old already.

Totally static maps, no physic effects on objects etc, nothing appears to be destructible with the exception of objecives. Flamethrower looked infinately better in the old game.

Turd is all i can say, this is a game that feels like it shoulda been released at least 5 years ago..

Apparently someone has been delving into the beta files, and the 12 player limit doesnt seem to be hard coded, he found info for upto 42 players per map. As for graphics and destructible objects Im not that fussed, as long as the gameplay is fine.
 
For some reason I'm really, really, really expecting this to suck. I don't know why, I really liked RTCW.

I also loved rtcw multiplayer and after spending a few hours playing the beta last night i'm afraid your fears are justified. rtcw2 mp does not feel like rtcw in the slightest. The similarities are there, but it's more like cod. A wolfenstein mod for cod2. It's poo.
 
Just watched the new Zeppelin footage over a Gametrailers...

The trailer showed a couple of soldiers getting the heads shot off - gore is always cool, but I expect similar carnage when I aim a rocket launcher at someones face (none of this 'roll over like a dog' stuff).

Worst flamethrower fx ever though? Bring it on, I'll give it a go. :)

Got this on order with the Jersey Outfit.

SP looks a + (not interested in MP).

Just hope my rig (as spec) can run it. Maybe time to think about sorting out that O/C!!

Well it's running on an enhanced version of the Doom 3 engine, so it should be ok.

And the multiplayer is being developed by Endrant Studios, not Raven

Don't know if that's a good or a bad thing, but it is apparently their first project.
