Woman at Car Park Took Pics of my Plates?

Did the trolly do any damage? I’d be surprised if an empty trolley did.

Did this lady have short hair and a face like thunder?
could easily have scratched the car. as already said it's not your problem however I must admit people not policing their trolly really does pee me off (not aimed at OP but their passenger) esp lazy ass hats who think they are too important to put their trolly away so leave in in a bay to roll into some ones car.

Guy at work had to have a dent pulled and scratch buffed out last week due to someone just leaving a trolley that then rolled into his car.

As annoying as the pound coin release things are it does stop 99% of this in an instant.

Trolley going in to a car accidentally is bad luck, no one will care. If someone did it on purpose, or did it accidentally and just walked off it's criminal damage I think. But the chances of the police caring is zero.

She can claim for the damage from her own insurer, but that's all they will care about.

Police have removed the trolly as evidence:

I don't think they will pursue if they have an ounce of common sense. Once she reaches home and things have settled down it will become apparent that its futile effort.

I have had some people (probably teenagers) walk all over my car last week late at night. That has left a small dent on the roof. I felt really bad, talked to my friend about it and after two days I am not feeling that bad.

Got door dinged by the car next to me in Sainsbury's. They couldnt have been less interested in providing CCTV, it's not there to protect you, it's to protect the supermarket. No chance this goes anywhere.

Pretty sure most cameras are an absolute waste of space scarecrow. Ok there's a recording, now what's the enforcement...

Except the ones on the petrol stations which read your numberplates.

on a slightly related note I was v impressed with the sentry on my mates Tesla.

he was parked in a tight carpark in a hotel and he was able to check all close proximities to his car.

I asked him what he would do if it picked up someone damaging his car and he said it would depend if the car was still in the hotel or not ..... police wise I doubt they would help much but as a car feature it is excellent imo

original post did read like women may have watched a trolley roll into her car ... so could have intervened, but instinctively was trying to film it.
comment I saw said your car insurance could be impicated in activities around load/unloading a car - but this incident sounds tenuous,
more direct - had a couple of recent slanging macthes with folks whose passengers opened their doors onto me running on pavement

( when people park in tight parking spaces with their supersized wide car - you are asking for problems if that prevents others accessing their cars.)

I agree many car parking spaces are too small for modern sized cars.... whether that is the fault of the spaces being too small or the cars to large is debatable

however its not the issue here as its someone who allegedly let their trolley roll into someones car causing damage.

This is similar to what happens if a cyclist damages your car squeezing past you on a road (happened to me in Cambridge) or someone kicks a stone / football or what ever onto it by mistake. unless they offer to cover any costs voluntarily out of a sense of good will, i think you are onto a loser trying to get money off them legally.

Until you get some fanny that decides to put their trolly at 90 degrees to the one in front instead of "into" the trolley in front and inserts the chain from the front trolley at that point .... These people just want to see the World burn :(

after the first 2 or 3 times of people opening doors into my vehicles i just bite my lip. i have argued in the past but usually they just act entitled and laugh it off. very annoying but what can you do. i try and park away from others but amazing how even parking in a so called empty area i return and find someone parked next to me grrrrrrrrrr.

quite like this approach but not sure about damage :) https://www.bing.com/videos/rivervi...5029E0A0FD0341F0B3AE5029E0A0FD0341F&FORM=VIRE
