Woman murdered parents and stored bodies in house for four years

Shocking how calm she was during the arrest, The even more crazy thing is, Apparently she has siblings? Where have they been this whole time!

I feel sorry for the officers, You can see on the one arresting officers face just the sheer horror of how calm she is.

Never knew she had siblings.
She must be mentally damaged by something? I don't read much into news but it came across she wasn't even remorseful or anything?

What a grim case!

This happened less than a mile from me. My friend vaguely knew the couple that got murdered because they used to go to Chelmsford City F.C games.

Always weird when it happens nearby.

Very close too. Strange, think I've seen her at or around the shops a couple of times.

4 or 5 siblings too. Who havent seen either of their parents for 4 years. Yet are now up in arms about it.

4 years remember. For 4 years they didnt even bother to call, visit, whatever, their parents.

One of my brothers is quite distant from my parents, for no reason I may add but he'd be the sort that wouldn't notice for a long time.

Me and my other brother would raise the alarm quickly as we're both in touch with them multiple times a week and even my lackadaisical sister would notice within a few weeks at most.

Some families are strange.

What's with the attempted victim blaming?

She is 36 years old (32 at the time of the murders).

Any choice(s) she made were her own, not the result of "poor parenting".

Also as far as I am aware it is not known (yet) whether she had been "scamming them out of thousands" prior to her killing them, or if spending all their money came after the killings.

No, the report says that whilst her parents were alive she was:

"Abusing their goodwill, she had been living rent free, spending their money and racking up large credit card debts in their names.

Forged letters showed McCullough had been tricking her parents into thinking they had lost money through scams. In reality, it was money "frittered away" by their daughter."

She's completely insane, as bad as it sounds this will be a very interesting case to follow
Spoiler alert. Case is closed. She was jailed for life with a 36 year minimum last week, hence why the details are now being released to the public. The more interesting case to follow is the made up one about some sailors eating a cabin boy after first drinking his blood.

Used to be a thing for shipwrecked sailors to publicly admit resorting to cannibalism until 3 sailors got done for murdering and eating their cabin boy after a sweaty law case about whether dying of starvation gave them the right. Still happened afterwards but survivors would say that anyone that got eaten, died of natural causes first...

That was not only sane and premeditated behaviour but had a great deal of public sympathy and the defendants had little to no guilt about what they had done. And we're talking about cutting the cabin boys throat, drinking his blood as he died and eating him over the next few days.

Now that's crazy. But they weren't.

Cannibalism among sailors is actually well documented.

Though I’m still confused why it was mentioned.

This could be an urban myth, but the explanation I was told when I was young was that cannibalism was considered acceptable as a last resort for shipwrecked sailors. However, the person who was eaten had to have died from natural causes or been chosen by lot. The controversial case was because the sailors didn't draw lots, the men just murdered the cabin boy and ate him.

Ignoring the difficulties of performing a post mortem in the 1800's on a body that had been eaten to determine cause of death for a moment, I think facing possible cannibalism charges would be preferable to starving to death.

So are we now reaching an agreement that this woman is crazy for killing her parents and living with the bodies for 4 years, however wouldn't been seen as so if she had simply sailed into international waters with them, drank their blood and ate them instead?

She'd be in a bit of deep water either way.
