Women......and tablet PC's.......and using them to do course work on........

You'll notice though that in the op he states about his missus on an apple product but mentions the word document (microsoft) associated with pc rather than apple. He offers her his laptop with office on it but still refuses..... So even after offering her what she's wanting to use she still persists with her iPad....

But both of you are missing the point that she can use WORD on her tablet and email the document.
The OP also doesn't know how the tablet works although I agree it would be easier (for me) on a laptop.

Oh how I wish the rolleyes emote did not exist.

Makes everything you type look so passive-aggressive.

I mean come on guys

 Seriously? That's your opinion?

Clearly you're an expert then

See? :D

I'd rather do 2000 words on a iPad screen which is very good for a touch screen, than on the tiny keyboards that come with 13 inch laptops. Obviously my preference is for a full size keyboard but if that wasn't an option I guess I could do it on the iPad.

not written as an insult. OP mentions woman on ipad but refers to microsoft software when trying to do work. clever marketing has made apple products popular as they're simple to use but dont have the software they require for the task at hand.....

Opening a post with "Another Apple sheep..." sets the tone regardless. If you wanted to debate the current demise of Microsoft Office that would have been fine. That's part of the OPs problem, the institution is clinging to the fact that .DOC is the standard file format for written work.

I've written three books, including one novel, formatted, edited, published, all without going near word. I've done Open University coursework, again not going near Word. Now whilst I did these on a Mac it would have been possible to do so on an iPad too. Hell you can produce videos (I've made an edited and uploaded YouTube videos using just an iPhone) or edit music or create art on an iPad.

Apple's iPad is popular for a reason and that reason isn't just "marketing"

It seems you know bugger all about tablets.
I think you ought to shut up before you make a bigger fool of yourself.

A wise man opens his mouth when he has something to say. A fool opens his mouth to say something.

Better to let the world think you're a fool than open your mouth and remove all doubt.

One of those sayings should be appropriate! :D

Yeah! Dimple works in a hospital! He knows all about the different types of medication!

Bud Dum TSH!!!!

I've never claimed anything of the sort so I don't know where you got that from
Clinical Negligence & Inquests is my expertise.

It's also quite sad that in an NHS Hospital there can be over 500 different jobs and all you can think about is medicine :D
