go on the owners menu, theres a link to 'Value my car', which gives you a glasses valuation worth £2.50.

it should give you an idea.
the other way is to look at the autotrader and see what the same spec/type/mileaage is getting.

rate it with those and if you have 12 months tax/mot then increase by an appropraite amount, e.g. £100 for tax, £100 for MOT.

remember a 12 months MOT means its passed the new MOT, which is not the easiest for older cars.
 
It's hardly an old car, being a 2002 but it does have a high mileage and passed without fault. To be honest doing 30k miles a year means it gets serviced every 4 months so if there's anything wrong it got picked up!

Will get the car valeted on Thursday and put it online on the AT website, hope to see it within the week!
 
OK car was valeted but the damn emissions warning light has returned!!

The mechanic came and looked at it this morning and cleared the warning light and is going to investigate what the problem may be. The problem is related to the secondary air system which is used to increase air into the exhaust to reduce emissions whilst the car reaches temperature. It doesn't affect the performance or fuel economy so is a complete pain that it's stopping me selling it!

As for selling it with the warning light - that's a tricky one. If it comes on in the test drive it'll surely put someone off as you say!

It depends on whether you're personally happy to sell it as is or whether you want to look into fixing the problem. You've already spent a fair bit on the car so you might not get anything back for your outlay if you spend anything more

If it's a cheap fix then I'd say that it's probably worth it for your peace of mind. If it comes up during the test drive then the prospective buyer might think that it'll be expensive to fix leading to them walking off or giving a very low offer
 
Depending on how much it would cost to fix, how quick you want shot of it, and in the end on how honest you are, but could you not just remove the bulb for the emissions warning light??

Wouldn't feel right about removing a bulb to hide a problem.

See how the car goes this week and if the garage has any further ideas.

It had previously been into an independant for all it's work and they've drawn a blank hence I've decided to go to the stealer :Double Ouch!:

I've had 5 calls so far and one viewing booked for Thursday evening. Is that a good sign on the price and ad contents?
 
5 calls on an ad thats only been placed for 1 day is good going and sounds very promising.
