Wondering How To Get A Job As A Gaming Scientist? Ask Richard Huddy from AMD!

Very good segment, nice to cover some of the trivial stuff.
Only answer that came across as not genuine was BF4, but maybe that is just because I don't rate it that well as a great game.

The next segment of the Huddy video series is ready and it's time for the 'tough' questions. This one is my personal favourite. :)

OcUK Forum fires in the tough questions to Richard Huddy

It’s all well and good Richard Huddy, AMD’s Chief Gaming Scientist, answering questions on Mantle, hair follicles and the future of gaming resolutions, what about the tough questions?
Overclockers.co.uk has a pretty active forum – full of hardcore enthusiasts. They wanted Huddy’s reply to some more awkward propositions. Well, here’s the response.

i just count the coughs now when watching :p

mantle cough amd cough mantle cough amd cough :D

richard spoke for 4:52 nonestop clearing throat coughing then the other guy came in and did same :p

great guys but sort it out :p

mantle 1.0 being dropped. basically its a graphic driver update/feature marketed as a seperate thing. for mantle to be succesful or shown as a seperate reason to buy AMD products it needs to work in ALL titles not the ones its paid millions to to partner with.

then people will really jump on board.

Cheers Matt i did like how , mantle will continue to evolve if there is a need for it. Hope for some nice cool features in mantle 2 and 3

You have to love the way that he answers the first question in 30 seconds and then goes on to waffle about Mantle for 4 minutes, he should be a politician. :D

Good watch and surprised he reiterated again that they will only support Mantle whilst it is in demand (solving game devs problems).... Does this mean that when DX12 hits and games are being developed, they will drop Mantle?

It will continue until there is no need/demand simple enough, if the unknown entity that is DX12 is better, then I imagine so, Mantle 2 beta might get the performance back.:D

Why is the industry standard term for something being available "shipping"? Dx12 "Shipping". Does my nut that terminology.
