That actually looks pretty good, judging by the mannerisms and facial movements I'm guessing this is more of the Gene Wilder Wonka than the Johnny Depp Wonka.

Chalomet doesn't seem as quirky as Gene Wilder was though.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm. Unless its Wonka as a teenager they picked the wrong actor

Trailer looked a bit silly and slapstick and a bit too far from the source material....then I saw Christmas release and decided no harm done.

Its not really a remake, its the origin story, it tells how Wonka started out

Anyone trying to follow Gene has an uphill battle, I feel the quirkyness is 'forced' - although from my experience of how kids react to the Depp version (positive) vs my own thoughts on that one (very negative) I may just be am out of touch.

It's all made up! At least the other 2 films story was based on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I bet they can't do a remake due to Netflix buying the rights to Roald Dahl's stories.

I mean, if they can make 10 films about cars racing about and blowing things up and have that film franchise pull in $7 Billion in revenue, then its probably ok to have 3 films in 52 years about Willy Wonka
