I'm so happy that we'll be back to GMT (UTC, Z, etc) this coming weekend.

We invented time, we invented Greenwich, we invented longitude and we invented clocks*

We'll be back to proper time again... BST, you can do one!

Everyone gets an extra hour sleep, except for insomniacs who can have an extra hour staring at the ceiling.

Some people just want to watch the world burn. In total darkness and complete misery. GMT is for those "people".

I suppose the darkness is comforting as it reminds them of their cave dwellings.

Got be something seriously wrong in the heads of people who like it to get dark earlier in the evening.

Dracula complex maybe.

@Feek ..more freak that feek for liking GMT! Yuck!

Glad to see most people like bst. I mean. Even if you like the dark, you can just stay in your house and close the curtains and miss out on all that vit D

For those of use with fixed 9-5, 8-4 jobs who like doing things.. You know, away from the desk. That extra hour of light is amazing.

Also. Vitamin D good for covid!

I do 8 to 5 mon to Thu and I don't mind going ro work in darkness but it's nice to have some light on return to mooch in garden and occasionally wash car ect

Tbh I love the Autumn in particular and look forward to the clocks going back. "The Long Dark" as I call it is my favourite time of year.

I quite like the long summer nights, but the light mornings can **** right off, birds going mental and it being light when it's still night time is no good to me.

Then surely you would prefer BST all year round?
If not, then in summer, those mornings would be light even earlier - if we stayed on GMT all year, in June the sun would be rising at about 3.45AM (in London).

I'm an early riser, but even so, I can see how that would seem like waste of daylight to the majority.

I prefer it as it is. As much as I loathe light mornings they do come to an end, and I like that the clocks changing in step with the seasons and the weather becoming colder.
