OK, So I know I am a supervisor right now, but I cannot stand my manager or area manager.

A few reasons, my managers daughter gets away with everything, and I am not exaggerating 1 bit. Also, the area manager wants me to remove ALL my piercings, and I am not allowed to use retainers or clear piercings :confused: I can understand my eyebrow, by tongue, helix and tragus??

So, I have been applying here, there and everywhere these past few weeks, had an over-phone interview at Aldi, but failed as they asked why I wanted to leave....in hind-site, I should have lied to them...

CVL, Bargain-Booze distribution center, just phoned me and offered me a 0 hour contract, as a drivers-mate, doing about 45 hours a week. Goto go in Tuesday for interview/induction. The induction is where it sounds promising!
 
It's understandable they want you to remove it before, but one of my previous employers told me to take them out 6months later, which was disappointing. Considering they had no problems and knew I was having both ears done.

Suffice to say, that was the last time I had a piercing.
 
Doesnt sound good to me, 0 hour is risky, and it sounds that even while you ARE working you are just going to be helping out?

0 hero contract must be a typo?

That means they could turn round and just say "no hours this week sunshine, lolyou for signing a 0 hour contract"
 
You do know what a "Drivers Mate" in "Alcohol Distribution" is don't you ?


Edit: Not sure what job you have just now but going from a "supervisory" role to a "Driver's Mate" (aka Lacky) doesnt seem smart to me.

On a serious note though 0 hour contracts can be a bit dodgy as it means you cant guarantee your income. For some it works quite well, for example at uni the student union hired people on a 0 hour contract but hired loads so you would just put your name down if you wanted to work on any given night. Occasionally they would ring round if they were short staffed, its fine for students as its flexible. If it was your main source of income though Id be hesitant.
 
Health & Safety etc with piercings. We are the same here, any you have need to be taken out.

No one has a problem with it.

Also my mate has a 0 hour contract...worse thing ever. Pretty much up and down, never knowing what work you have on a day to day basis.
 
Righty Then.

I got the job, and after asking about job security, the boss took me aside, as there was 2 people there, me and another chap, and told me he can give me a guaranteed 45hour per week contract. So I have accepted. Problem now is I have to wait until 24th may to start (holiday ;)) and I need the following, as their uniform takes forever to come, or so they say...

1- Steel Toe cap boots
2- Heavy duty gloves
3- Flask, for my coffee (never know when you get a brew they say)
4- Rucksack
5- Small flip knife thingy...
