WOOP! :)

I checked the car very thoroughly for damage. It could have been someone fitted a different badge!

There was no colour difference or welded marks or whatnot under the carpet or round the boot or underneith.

I suspect a change in rear badge.

Well to confirm it does say GTi on the rear badge. It doesn't have any japanese lableing or writing on the car anywhere really. Maybe they wanted it to look like a UK model!

I took out the none working radio/cassette to find a bodge job, can't find the power lead, live lead etc anywhere :(

Exact same as my mates. Absoloutly lovely cars, go like the wind and handle corners like pooh to a blanket!

Turn the handle on the seat to clampt you in and go baby go! (Sound also with an induction kit too!)

Looks tidy mate, very nice! (agree it looks UK through and through)

Must be a UK model unless someone went to the trouble of drilling holes in the wing for the small side repeaters found on the UK models.

Looks nice in anycase :)

I emailed the ex-owner afterwards and he basically thought it was an import due to the "add-on's" it has, a/c etc.

It kinda sums it up the cars date of reg, the day it was born!

And Toyota selling the car, would have been strange if they had imports.

Anyway, I think I got a much better deal now :)

yup, was just thinking the same - a uk car for import prices bargain :D the insurance is just sooooo much cheaper :)

And you won't get the Toyota parts department people sucking through their teeth every time you walk in.

Very nice mate, well done :D

Identifying the wires behind the stereo should be easy enough with a multimeter, if they are there! If not, it's not too hard to create new ones.
