Felt like quite a bit of luck! Knew it had S, W, and L in it, SWILL was the first word I thought of with those letters in!

They have definitely made it harder no matter what they say. They are using slightly more obscure words and more with double letters than before. It used to be that a complete idiot could do it in a few minutes and now it takes at least some thinking.
 
I did it in 6 today,
'Swill' an old word my grandparents used to use, a bit surprising

I have done quite a number of them in 3, but that's my best so far. No failures so far in thirteen attempts, although a few were close like today.

It seems that way to me, but I haven't been playing long.

I thought that for a bit the last few days, but I honestly think it is just the luck factor. The game is majorly based around the luck of how close your first (or second if you get nothing in the first one) guess is. Ive never not got it in 6, and i think you should be able to get any word within the six guesses, but how many it takes you isn't much to do with skill.

I didn't get one single letter in my first two guesses yesterday and today. Naturally that meant it took me 5/6 guesses to get it.

Of course there is a luck element but there are certain things that you can do to make it harder.

Make the word less simple i.e. less people will think of it given a few letters.
Use double letters. Wordle doesn't give you any indication when a letter is used twice.
Use less common letters. Most people start with a word containing E and A. A word with only a single vowel that isn't E or A is harder to guess.

All of the above has happened more often since it was sold IMO.

Perhaps they haven't changed a thing other than removing nasty words :rolleyes: but I think they probably have tweaked it for their readership to offer a slightly more challenging game.
 
Had it down to 1 letter needed (4 greens) with 2 guesses left. Just too many correct variations of 5 letter words with what I had. Don’t feel like I failed as anyone of them could have been right.

Wow I actually failed today for the first time. I didn't have the second letter and had all the rest for four guesses.
